How to play: a word appears and the app starts listening. She says the word out loud — she can sound it out as many times as she likes — and when it recognises the word it reads the correct pronunciation back to her, then moves on by itself. Nothing is ever marked wrong. When it doesn’t recognise her: after two tries it says the word so she can copy it, and after the number of tries you set below it shows the word split into letters, reads it, and moves on. The ring running out never fails her — it just offers the word and gives her a fresh window. Two dials: the number of letters sets how hard the words are; the speed sets how long she gets to answer. Start on 3 letters at 10 seconds and move one dial at a time. Browser: listening needs Chrome, Edge or Safari over https, and Chrome sends the audio to Google to be transcribed. Firefox cannot listen at all, and the game falls back to tapping.
